Arq is a micropress based in Portland, Oregon that publishes an annual journal with a rotating, animalistic theme. Each issue revolves around the collective noun for a group of animals and explores the multiple meanings we assign to words. The inaugural release, Flock, was a serendipitous and cathartic response to the political climate of 2016. Founded in 2017, the editors of Arq Press are all graduates of the IPRC Prose Program.
THE PHARMACY PROJECT
The Pharmacy Project is a group of movers working together since 2009 to bring their audience narrative dance works. The focus of the company is to create work based on common sentiments, feelings, memories, and desires in hopes that those watching will be able to relate. They strive to highlight being human by balancing the sensibility of everyday movement with the sensitivity of a singular moment. The company seeks out interesting venues to help further tell their story, and place the audience in a thoughtful surrounding.
